'Times and Placed' explored the space of the newspaper page. Begun as a series of 'works on paper', in which Miraj placed announcements in The Times newspaper personal column crudely describing the making of a painting, which became the 'sketch' and record for a series of canvases. Paintings reproduced the page size, print area and sometimes traces of type and image within the build up of paint - the 'palimpsest'. The Times announcement space became a kind of studio in which the work was developed.
