About

Miraj Ahmed makes work that includes painting, drawing, photography and installation. His selection of specific media is appropriate to several recurring themes that are rooted in his interest in spatiality, perception and experience. Miraj's paintings depict light and darkness, while his photography playfully explores subtle subversions of ordinary objects and space. For example his Heterotopia series brings together notions of 'otherness' within familiar objects that allude to the body.

Trained as an architect, Miraj has been involved in architectural and public art projects in the UK and abroad as well as exhibitions at galleries and festivals such as ; Turner Contemporary, Margate ; MK Gallery, Milton Keynes ; Nunnery Gallery, London ; London Art Fair ; Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Arte Lauguna , Venice ; Fabbrica Europa (Florence) ; CGP London Dilston Grove, London.
